Why does it run on your device?
A statement is a document; it does not need to travel to another computer to be read. The statement PDF you add in the app is never uploaded for analysis: it is opened on your phone, the transactions are extracted on its own processor, and the result stays on your phone.
The app never connects to your bank and asks for no bank username, password or open banking access. The places that talk to the server are clear: sign-in and, if you turn them on, cloud backup, the shared account and email forwarding.
