How to get your bank statement PDF

How to obtain the PDF of your credit card statement from your bank's app, with menu steps taken from the banks' own help pages.

01Why every bank is different

How Turkish banks deliver statements changed in 2020. A regulation from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (Official Gazette, 15 March 2020, no. 31069; in force 1 July 2020) set out that:

“Information containing sensitive or confidential data — statements, receipts, account summaries and the like — that a bank sends to its customers electronically shall as a principle be delivered through electronic banking channels.”

The operative phrase is “as a principle”: email was not banned, digital channels were made the primary route. Banks responded differently — some kept emailing, some made it opt-in, some moved it into the app.

That is why one set of steps does not work everywhere. The paths below come from the banks' own help pages.

02Menu paths by bank

App menus change with updates. The steps below follow each bank's published help text; if yours looks different, look for “Hesap Özeti” (account summary) or “Ekstre” (statement) in the cards menu.

Garanti BBVA

Garanti BBVA Mobil: Hesap ve Kart → Kartlar → select the card → Kart Hareketleri / Ekstre

BonusFlaş: Kart Bilgileri → Ekstrelerim

İşbank

Maximum Mobil: Kartlarım → select the card → Kart Harcamalarım → Hesap Özetlerim → choose period → Dijital Hesap Özeti

İşCep: Tüm işlemler → Belgelerim

Yapı Kredi

Kart İşlemlerim: Kredi Kartı İşlemleri → Hesap Özeti

Akbank

Statement preference in Akbank Mobil and Juzdan: Kartlarım → Kart Ayarları → Dijital Ekstre tercihleri

To view it, use the statement step on the card screen; Akbank does not publish a separate viewing path.

Enpara.com

Cep Şube: your statements are under Belgelerim.

Other banks

QNB Finansbank, Denizbank, VakıfBank, Halkbank, Ziraat, ING, TEB, HSBC, Fibabanka, Kuveyt Türk and Şekerbank do not publish a menu path on their own sites. Look for the “Hesap Özeti” or “Ekstre” step in the cards menu; if you cannot find it, the bank's customer service is the fastest route.

03If the PDF asks for a password

Some banks send statement PDFs by email that ask for a password when opened. It is worth being straightforward about this:

No Turkish bank publishes the password rule for its statement PDFs. The official help pages, contracts and FAQs of Garanti BBVA, İşbank, Akbank, Yapı Kredi, Enpara and Ziraat were all checked, and none states a rule. Patterns circulating online — “the first five digits of your national ID”, and similar — are not verified information.

If you are asked for a password, the two reliable moves are:

  • Download it from the app instead. The copy obtained from the bank's own app is usually unprotected, and may not be the same file as the emailed one.
  • Ask your bank. The rule is bank-specific and customer service can give a definitive answer.

When Ekstre Analiz meets an encrypted PDF it says so explicitly — it tells you the file is password protected rather than claiming it is not a statement.

04Which PDF reads best

  • The bank's own PDF is best: it has a text layer, so the lines can be read directly.
  • A screenshot or photo is a hard input: there is no text layer, characters have to be recovered from the image, and lines can come out incomplete.
  • A scanned document has the same problem. Use the bank's original PDF where you can.

Choosing a full billing period also lets the statement date and payment due date be read.

05After you have the PDF

You can send the document straight to Ekstre Analiz from your bank app's share menu, or save it to your device first and pick it from the app. The parsing happens on your phone; the PDF is not uploaded to a server to be analysed.
